Lift is the aerodynamic force generated by an airfoil or an aircraft wing as a result of the flow of air over its surface. Lift is the force countering gravity, enabling an aircraft to overcome weight for flight. It acts perpendicular to airflow, sustaining flight and altitude control. With an increased load factor, lift proportionally rises to maintain balance with the aircraft’s weight during maneuvers. As the bank angle (Φ) increases, the lift force () decreases. The formula to calculate lift as follows:
Where:
- L is the Lift force in N.
- Φ is the bank angle in radian
- W is the Weight in N.
