Tangential velocity (Vš) is the component of velocity that is tangent to the circular path of a particle or object in motion. It represents how fast the particle is moving along the circular path at a particular instant. Tangential velocity is always perpendicular to the radial direction (the direction from the particle to the center of the circle).Ā Ā
- Vš is the tangential velocity,
- C is the magnitude of the angular velocity (angular speed) of the particle, and
- r is the radial distance from the center of the circular path to the particle’s position (the radius of the circle).
