The “aspect ratio” of an aircraft’s vertical tail (also known as the vertical stabilizer) is a parameter used in aerodynamics to describe the proportions of the tail’s shape and size. The aspect ratio provides insight into how efficiently the vertical tail generates side force (yawing moment) and stability for the aircraft.
