The turn radius formula in aircraft design allows you to calculate the radius of the circular path an aircraft follows when making a coordinated turn.
The formula is as follows:
- Turn Radius is the radius of the turn.Velocity is the velocity of the aircraft in feet per second or meters per second.
- g is the acceleration due to gravity (approximately 32.2 ft/s² or 9.81 m/s²).
- tan(bank angle) is the tangent of the bank angle of the aircraft.
