Resultant aerodynamic force Calculator

The resultant aerodynamic force, also known as the total aerodynamic force or resultant aerodynamic load, refers to the net force acting on an object, such as an aircraft or a vehicle, due to the aerodynamic interactions with the surrounding fluid (usually air). It encompasses both the lift force and the drag force (tangential or axial force) acting on the object.

  • R is the resultant aerodynamics force
  • Ki is the unit force coefficient
  • S is the planform area
  • V is the freestream velocity

The aerodynamic force is the resultant vector from adding the lift vector, perpendicular to the flow direction, and the drag vector, parallel to the flow direction.
